Winners have emerged at the 2024 Dynamic Athletics Meet held at the Nigerian Navy Sports Complex in Navy Town, Ojo, Lagos.
Winners Of 2024 Dynamic Athletics Meet
Consider Ekanem and Olayinka Olajide emerged winners of the 60 meters race events at the 2024 Dynamic Athletics Meet in Lagos in the men and women categories respectively.
Consider Ekanem clocked a personal best (PB) of 6.70 seconds into a 1.6m/s headwind. He beat a field that included Olympians Enoch Adegoke and Emmanuel Ojeli who ran 6.85 seconds and 6.89 seconds to start the season.
Olayinka Olajide started out strong and ran away with the win in the women’s 60 meters final, coming through in 7.50 seconds (PB). She beat National 100 meters Champion Blessing Ogundiran who finished second in 7.63 seconds, while Victoria Olaniyi ran 7.65 seconds for third.
Olayinka Olajide (AJ Gold) ran a big personal best of 11.37 seconds (1.5) to win the women’s 100 meters final. She beat Chisom Favour Onyebuchi who won her heat in 11.48 seconds and Blessing Ogundiran in 11.71 seconds.
Joseph Esther Elo ran a personal best (PB) of 52.99 seconds (unofficial) to start off her season over 400 meters, winning the women’s race at the Dynamic Athletics Meet. This was her first time under 53 seconds, while the second heat went to Olayinka Olajide who went up in distance to a PB of 55.31 seconds.
Prestina Ochonogor recorded a personal best of 6.66 meters (nwi) to win the women’s long jump. Her series: 6.34 meters; 6.41 meters; 6.45 meters; 5.88 meters; 6.08 meters; 6.66 meters.
Enoch Adegoke wins men’s 100 meters final 2 at the 2024 Dynamic Athletics Meet in a time of 10.28 seconds (0.7) to kick off his season, his fastest time since 2021. He finished ahead of Emmanuel Ojeli in 10.44 seconds.
Fakorede Adekalu won the 100 meters season opener in a time of 10.30 seconds (0.8) from Israel Okon in 10.40 seconds.
Before 2024, Chisom Favour Onyebuchi had never officially broken 12 seconds. She ran times of 11.69 seconds and 11.50 seconds (1.4) to win the women’s 100 meters final 2 at the Dynamic Athletics Meet.
