Winners have emerged at the three-day 2022 Nigerian Athletics Championships held in June 2022 in Benin City, Edo State.
Winners Of 2022 Nigerian Athletics Championships
- Tobi Amusan: retained her national title and set a new Championship record in the 100 meters hurdles event with a time of 12.54 seconds.
Grace Ayemoba emerged in second position behind Amusan with a time of 13.64 seconds while Stella Ayanleke also made it to the podium in third place with a time of 13.85 seconds.
- Favour Ashe won the men’s race, with a new personal best of 9.99 seconds as he became only the second athlete to run under 10 seconds on Nigeria soil and officially the 12th Nigerian to go under 10 seconds.
Alaba Akintola with 10.06 seconds was second behind Ashe while Godson Brume finished in the third position.
- Grace Nwokocha won the women’s race with a time of 11.03 seconds (her first national title) while Rose Chukwuma came second with 11.07 seconds and Chima Godbless was third with 11.38 seconds.
- Abejoye Oyeniyi retained his 110 meters Hurdles national title in a time of 13.78 seconds.
