17-year-old Nyuima Tersee of Platform Schools, Ipaja, has emerged as the winner of the 2025 National Chess Championship in Nigeria.
This remarkable achievement makes Nyuima the youngest player to ever win the championship.
Nyuima’s impressive victory has earned him a prestigious title, a cash prize of ₦750,000, and a coveted ticket to represent Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Individual Chess Championship.
He has also been named the poster boy of the Nigeria Chess Federation.
