Nigerian Students have received various awards of excellence from the Cambridge Assessment International Education in the 2019 examinations.
Eight Nigerian students have received Cambridge International exceptional performance awards for emerging with the best results in the world in June 2019 Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education examination.
The students, all from Regent School, Abuja, are: Abubakar Sadiq Tafida, Aditi Amol Sohoni, Chisom Angela, Angel Akahara, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, Phinola Yeani Aruna, Shreya Jindal and Sybel Nyenimana.
Principal of Regent School, Abuja, Mr. Andrew Williams, who made this known in Abuja said he was delighted that the school had consistently remained in the limelight and were being celebrated by the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE).
He said the school’s board received the information from the “British Council and Cambridge International that eight of her students emerged with the best results across 13 subjects in the June 2019 Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education examination in Nigeria and the world.”
Mr. Andrew Williams further disclosed that the Cambridge International Exceptional Performance Awards at both national and international levels were conferred on seven of the students. These awards include Highest in the World in Mathematics, achieved by two students.
According to him, Shreya, Phinola, Ibrahim, Sybel, Chisom, Abubakar and Aditi were adjudged to have obtained the best results across Nigeria in 11 subjects – Accounting, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Physics (Shreya Jindal); Art & Design (Phinola Yeani Aruna); Environmental Management (Ibrahim Abdulsalam); Foreign Language (Sybel Nyenimana); Global Perspectives (Chisom Angela, Angel Akahara); Music (Abubakar Sadiq Tafida); Information and Communication Technology (Aditi Amol Sohoni) and Mathematics (Shreya Jindal & Aditi Amol Sohoni).
He noted that Shreya Jindal had an overwhelmingly outstanding result as she was the best (student) across eight subjects, while both Shreya Jindal and Aditi Amol Sohoni achieved the highest results globally in Mathematics (without coursework).
The Regent School principal said:

Just last year, six students of The Regent School achieved the best Cambridge IGCSE results in Nigeria in seven subjects in the IGCSE examinations of June 2018.

Lifeforte International High School, Ibadan, Oyo State also has emerged tops in the Outstanding Cambridge Learners Awards 2020, with the students winning 53 awards in various categories.
The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards are a group of awards issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education in recognition of exceptional learner achievement in Cambridge examinations around the world.
The primary purpose of the awards is to celebrate and recognize the success of high-performing Cambridge learners.
The awards recognize excellence in student performance and are given across a range of categories in the examinations conducted by CAIE.
Students of Lifeforte International High School, Ibadan, in addition to the emerging top in the world in AS level Mathematics, Business and O level Geography, also emerged Best across four subjects at AS level for November 2018 and 2019, Best across eight subjects at O level for June 2019 and November 2019, top in Nigeria AS & O level in 17 places across 10 subjects and 29 High Achievement awards at AS & O level across social science, science and art subjects.
The principal of the school, Mrs. Grace Aina, who received the news from the British Council, was full of gratitude to God, noting that the sterling performance could only have been possible through the grace of God who crowned the hard work of the students and dedicated teachers.
