Na My Teacher Make Me Who I Be Today! By Peter Columba Itanka
I wonder wetin life for be if teachers no bin dey.
Who for show us the right way?
Who for make readers of today become leaders of tomorrow?
Teachers be like manure where dey make plant grow.
Them be like Sun where dey shine make flowers no die.
Them be like moon where bring light make we see for dark;
Make we no stumble, come fall.
Na who make them Presidents, Governors, Lawyers and Bankers?
Who make them Engineers, Scientists, Nurses and Doctors?
Na teachers; na them do am so.
Teaching na one of the profession for this world where people dey do out of love.
Make our pikin follow grow, dey fly for sky like dove;
Come become wetin God want them to be.
Na my teacher make me who I be today.
Na why I open up the mouth of my ink come thank my teacher say: twale.
