Profile: Mohammed Usman Thompson
Mohammed Usman Thompson is a dynamic entrepreneur, youth advocate, and business development expert with a strong academic background and a passion for community development.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Business Development from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). Additionally, he obtained a Master’s in Financial Economics from the Federal University of Lafia. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Management at the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Mohammed is actively involved in youth leadership and entrepreneurship initiatives. He is a member of the Commonwealth Alliance for Young Entrepreneurs, where he serves as the National Coordinator for Nigeria. He is also a pioneer member of the Unleash Program in Denmark and a member of the National Working Committee of the Commonwealth Youth Council for Europe and Africa. Additionally, he is affiliated with Lions Clubs International and the G200 Youth Forum.
As a social entrepreneur, Mohammed Usman Thompson has founded and co-founded multiple initiatives aimed at empowering young people and supporting military families:
Force Discount – A platform that harmonizes discounted products and services for members of the Nigerian military, paramilitary, and their families.
Beyond Barracks Project – A movement dedicated to changing public perceptions of life in military barracks while empowering young people with skills for sustainable development.
Students CEOs – A platform that supported student entrepreneurs by providing a space to showcase their products and services for free. He later sold the platform to Konga in 2012.
Through his work, Mohammed continues to champion youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community development, making a significant impact in both military and civilian communities.
