According to the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of PositiveNaija, Mr. Toju Micheal Ogbe:

“We thank God Almighty for the successful video contest. It is the first video contest we have organised after two inspiring and productive editions of essay competitions. We are pleased with the unique strategy, organisation, set objective and response by the participants. Decisive in our strategy for this contest was to restrict submission of entries to Whatsapp rather than the popular and open hashtag approach deployed on various social media channels. While this has its obvious benefits including possible huge brand or activity popularity, we primarily sought to avoid doing harm to the general public space in the instance(s) of video presentations containing inappropriate values or ideas from being shared/circulated.

This topic of the video contest is a very important one today – as it seeks to not only promote the self-worth, self-value and self-respect of Nigeria and Nigerians but also it seeks to explore and understand what genuinely is responsible for its success overtime.

I believe that certain critical but useful insights on factors contributing to the essence and success of the self-esteem of Nigeria and Nigerians have been revealed through these video presentations and should be further intensified with sincere, practicable and intense convictions.

These factors include: Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage which teaches communalism validating our relationship with others; good upbringing unto tolerance for individual differences; pride of the family as a Nigerian; education unto peaceful co-existence; Nigeria’s diverse experiences forming an appreciable bond of cooperativeness ; deep sense of humor unto positivity; as well as enduring convictions of peaceful and positive diplomacy in the world; etc.

We appreciate and congratulate the contestants for the contest (17 in total – 17 Nigerians). We appreciate their courage, trust and hope in a greater Nigeria, their intellectual brilliance as well as their confidence in our execution. Together with the finalists, we express immense gratitude to the general public for their respective support particularly during the public voting proceedings.

We also express our heartfelt gratitude to a sponsor for this video contest – Geo-Group Limited and advisors [Elijah Ezaga, Chidinma Ubochi, Jibril Ali and many others] for their kind contributions; a testament of their belief in our vision and mission.

We look forward to more remarkable editions in the future and further improvement in every aspect.”
