Joseph Oreva-Edafiadhe Wins Men’s Field Athlete Of The Year (Southeast Region) At 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Regional Award

Joseph Oreva-Edafiadhe has won the Men’s Field Athlete of the Year (Southeast Region) at 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Regional Award.

Joseph Oreva-Edafiadhe is ranked first nationally in the long jump at 7.84 meters (25-8¾). He is undefeated this season and won every competition by at least 30 cm (1 foot).

Joseph recorded a Personal Best in the Long Jump as he leapt to 7.89 meters to secure the win at the Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational. In the process, he broke Newman-Carson University’s 44-year-old record of 7.61 meters. This performance ranks him No.1 in Nigeria & in the NCAA Division II and 24th on the world ranking.

Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season were announced on March 4, 2021 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Each of the eight regions – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – honored both genders’ top track athletes and field athletes as well as the top men’s and women’s head coaches and assistant coaches.
