Hannah Reuben, Nigeria Army corporal, has clinched gold in the women’s 76 kg category at the ongoing 36th World Military Wrestling Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Expressing gratitude to the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for their support, Reuben stated:
“I utilised this championship as a platform to gear up for next year’s African Games and the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.”
With Odunayo Adekuoroye being the sole wrestler currently qualified for the Olympics, Reuben expressed hope for more qualifications from her fellow wrestlers.
In other results, Esther Ojolaide secured a silver medal in the women’s 57 kg event.
