DIaDeRC Call For Application To African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN) 4.0 Bootcamp Training: Grant Writing, Data Analysis, Research Proposals, Etc.

Following the successes recorded at the third edition of the African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN) Series 3.0 and the attendant appeal by young professionals for the flagship training programme to be opened for new intakes, the leadership of DePECOS Institutions and Development Research Centre (DIaDeRC) has approved the commencement of ASMN 4.0 from October 27th through November 24th, 2024.

The 5-weeks training will see participants grounded in a well-tailored training routine, fashioned to meet the yearnings and aspirations of established, young and budding researchers, both in industry and academia.

Participants in the first, second and third editions of ASMN (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0) bootcamp training have already witnessed a remarkable shift in their research approach, mindset, and methodology and have developed the requisite skillset needed to collaborate effectively, expand their networks, conduct research, and secure research grants.

Thus, with ASMN 4.0, DIaDeRC will be taking things to the next level. This training will see participants learn from experts the art and science of grantsmanship, have access to valuable resources, navigate the grant landscape, develop winning proposals, cultivate a supportive professional network, and at the same time, gain insights from industry experts on collaboration with our extensive network of almost 1000 researchers to advance their research careers.

As part of the planning to meet the aspirations of participants, taking into consideration feedback from the third edition of ASMN training, the leadership of DePECOS Institutions And Development Research Centre (DIaDeRC), organisers of ASMN, will be introducing a new module into the training curriculum towards equipping researchers and professionals on how to make the most of data analysis tools.

Summary of the Modules to be covered include:

Episode 1: 27th October 2024 – Introduction and Setting the Stage for Grantsmanship

Episode 2: 3rd November 2024 – Proposal Writing, Practicality of Grant Winning and Implementation

Episode 3:   10th November 2024 -Nuggets on Publishing in Reputable Outlets & Getting Rewarded

Episode 4: 17th November 2024 – Collaboration and Team Building in Data Analysis

Episode 5: 24th November 2024 -Partnership and Networking for Building a Successful Career.

 

A remarkable feature of ASMN 4.0, is it is the Series that is coming up after the establishment of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DIaDeRC and University of Regina.  Also, it is the Series holding after the onboarding of Batch 1 of ASMN Premium Members.

Like in the previous series (ASMN 1.0, 2.0 &. 3.0), the registration and participation in ASMN 4.0 is FREE. Participants will have access to grant and fellowship opportunities as well as collaborations with scholars and participate in our virtual in-house course creator programme.  Certificate of Completion would be given at the end to participants who meet the requirements, such as active participation and taking the exercises, among others, like subscribing to ASMN Premium members for continuous and progressive mentoring.
