Chioma Onyekwere has set a new African record at the 2023 Oklahoma Throws Series with a Personal Best (PB) of 64.96 meters in the women’s Discus Throw.
She broke the African Record set in 2007 by Elizna Naudé by 9 cm and hit the World Championship qualification standard.
Before Chioma Onyekwere’s new area record and Nigerian records, her best mark stood at 63.30 meters, but she has now improved on that mark by more than one meter, going up fifth in the world this season.
