The Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD) has trained and empowered 1,000 students on Sexual And Gender-Based Violence in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (AMAC, Bwari and Kuje).
This has been achieved through CEPASD’s STEAM Educational Based Learning approach on Gender Based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) as part of CEPASD’s project activities on promoting gender equality and women empowerment: an approach to end Sexual And Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) supported by Government of Ireland through the Embassy of Ireland Nigeria.
The Executive Director CEPASD, Mr. Augustine Igweshi stated that the aim of the training is to empower students with the knowledge about Gender Based Violence and SRHR to advocate against SGBV and promote SRHR in their schools and communities.
The training and empowerment was carried out at Government Girls Science Secondary School Kuje, Government Science Technical College Bwari and Government Science Secondary School Maitama.
The principal of the school was very delighted to have received CEPASD at their school.

Additionally, the Mr. Augustine Igweshi encouraged the students to become advocate and Anti-SGBV Ambassadors to report cases of SGBV in their schools and communities.
