Oduduru Divine Runs 2019 World Fastest Time In 100 & 200 Meters Michael Johnson Invitational

Oduduru Divine has emerged winner at the Michael Johnson Invitational Event with a 2019 world fastest time In 100 meters and 200 meters.

Oduduru Divine made the 100 meters run under 10 seconds in 9.95 seconds, later rounded off to 9.94 seconds to achieve the win.

The new feat is not just a new Personal Best (PB) for Oduduru Divine, it is also a new School Record (SR) and the fastest time in the 100m in the world this year.

Since Nigerian sprint legend, Olusoji Fasuba, ran a time of 9.85 seconds, in 2006 to set a new African record, no runner from the country has been able to run the 100 meters event under 10 seconds in the last 13 years.

Ibadan Excellers Win Little League Nigeria 2019 Baseball Tournament

Ibadan Excellers have emerged winners of the Little League Nigeria 2019 Baseball Tournament at the Oval Pitch Section of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ibadan Excellers prevailed over the Akure Owena team from Ondo State with a score of 12 to 5 to emerge winners of the 2019 edition of the United States (U.S.) Consulate-supported tournament.

Toluwani Hassan from Akure Owena team was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

Mercy Akide-Udoh Wins Regent University Athletic Coach Of The Year Award

Mercy Akide-Udoh, former Nigerian football player, has been named Regent University athletic department’s ‘coach of the year’.

Mercy Akide-Udoh, who has just completed her first season as head coach of the university’s women’s soccer program, was an unanimous choice for the award, voted for by all the coaches of the Virginia beach-based varsity in the United States of America.

Deborah Pam & Istifanos Peter Win 11th Ibadan City Marathon Race

Deborah Pam and Istifanos Peter have emerged winners of the female and male categories respectively in the 11th edition of the Ibadan City Marathon race.

The marathon was organised by West Midland Communications, owners of Splash FM/Lagelu FM radio stations and supported by several other partners.

Deborah Pam, an NSCDC officer (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence corps), had emerged winner of the female category, having completed the 42 km race in two hours, 58 minutes and 13 seconds.

Deborah Pam became a four-time winner, having emerged winner of the same category in the fifth, seventh and tenth editions of the Ibadan City Marathon race.

Istifanos Peter, who had only emerged runner-up in the male category of the ninth edition, emerged winner after completing the race in two hours, 44 minutes and 36 seconds.

Team Nigeria Wins 2019 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT)

Team Nigeria has emerged overall winner of the 2019 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) at the Ikeja Golf Club Lagos.

The country’s lady golfers with a gross score of 493 in the 54-hole finished the tournament outstandingly, which featured players from 10 African nations. The lady golfers also emerged winners in the individual event.

Nigeria’s Alaba Adetunji was in her best form as she won the individual best score with a gross of 246 (85, 80, 81). Evelyn Oyome was second best with 247 gross (80, 81, 86) in the three-day tournament.

Winners Of 2nd National Media Shooting Workshop & Competition

Winners have emerged in the second edition of the three-day National Media Shooting Workshop and Competition held at the Nigerian National Shooting Range, Package B, National Stadium Complex, Abuja.

Georgina Adegbie, a sport reporter with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) won gold medal in the female category of the Air Pisto. Adegbie came first position with 25 points to win the gold medal of the air pistol competition.
