NCS & NSCDC Win 2019 National Volleyball Premier League

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) men team and the NSCDC women teams both have emerged winners of the 2019 national volleyball premier league in Abuja.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) defeated the all conquering Customs male team 3-2 (21-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9), but the Nigeria Customs Service retained their title, having won their four previous games with 30 points.

Olabisi Joseph has emerged as the first female President of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) at the election held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Olabisi Joseph who was the Secretary in the immediate past executive won unopposed.

Dickson Monday emerged as the 1st Vice President, while Emma Ebong as 2nd Vice President, Antonia Nwari as [4th] Vice President while Dr. Funsho Oba is the Treasurer.

Gidi Giants Win Inaugural Temple Jam Basketball Championship

Gidi Giants of Lagos have defeated Gombe Bulls 58 to 51 to emerge champions of the inaugural Temple Jam Basketball Championship.

The championship ended on the 24th of November 2019 at the indoor sports hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Sodiq Taiwo And Rofiat Abdulazeez Win 2019 Prime Atlantic National Open Squash Senior And Under-16 Championship

Sodiq Taiwo and Rofiat Abdulazeez have won the men and women’s categories of the Prime Atlantic National Open Squash Senior and Under-16 Championship, which ended at the Squash Section, Ikoyi Club 1938.

Sodiq Taiwo defeated Kehinde Samuel in three straight sets of 11-6, 11-9 and 11-5 to emerge men’s champion, while in the women’s final, top-seeded player, Busayo Olatunji was beaten by Rofiat Abdulazeez 3-0 (11-6, 11-6 and 11-5).

Genevieve Njoku Wins Veteran Category Of The 2019 Lagos Women Run

Kenya’s Cheptoeck Careen and Genevieve Njoku, have emerged winners in the Open and Veteran categories of the 2019 10 kilometres race of the Lagos Women Run held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos State.

The fourth edition of the race, began at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, eventually saw Careen winning the Women’s Open in a time of 28:55 to clinch first place, while Nigeria’s Deborah Pam came second in 31:05, as Elizabeth Nuhu Power finished third in 31:52.

In the Veteran race for ages 45 to 70, Genevieve Njoku, an officer of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Bayelsa State Command triumphed in 43:03 to come first, while Ann Seriki was second in 45:19, as Bolanle Karim placed third in a time of 46:30.
