Rivers United Football Club have emerged winners of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.

The Port Harcourt-based NPFL side claimed their first-ever league title with four games to spare after Plateau United lost to Akwa United, last season’s champions, in Uyo.

Golden Eaglets Crowned 2022 WAFU B Tournament Champions

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have emerged champions of the 2022 WAFU Zone B tournament after beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final on June 24, 2022 in Cape Coast.

Abukakar Abdullahi scored Nigeria’s two goals in the final.

Nigeria Under-17, Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Richard Odoh was voted the Man of the Match (MOTM).

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria is coached by Nduka Ugbade.

Both teams have booked a spot to the 2023 Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations, which will be held in Algeria next year (2023).

Oluwatobiloba Amusan has set a new African Record (AR) of 12.41 seconds (-0.4) in the women’s 100 meters hurdles at the Paris Diamond League 2022 on June 18, 2022.

It was a time that moved her up to third in the world in 2022, only behind World Leader Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (12.37 seconds) and Alaysha Johnson (12.40 seconds).
