Nigeria’s 100 metres hurdles World Record holder, Oluwatobiloba Amusan, has been nominated for the 2023 Laureus World Sports Awards (World Breakthrough of the Year category).

She is the first Nigerian male or female athlete to be nominated for the prestigious Laureus Award.

Alaba Akintola has won the men’s 60 meters and 200 meters race events at the 2023 C-USA Championships in Birmingham.

He ran a time of 6.63 seconds to win the 60 meters event as well as clocked a personal best and school record, running 20.59 seconds to win the 200 meters event.
