Pam Paul James Wins 5000 Meters Race Event At 2024 Music City Challenge In Nashville

Pam Paul James has ran an indoor national record of 14:16.01 in his 5000 meters debut for Tulane University at the 2024 Music City Challenge in Nashville.

He shattered his total Personal Best (PB) by over 13 seconds and is now 0.51 seconds away from the outdoor record set in 1993 by Timon Gunem. This is only his second race in the NCAA, after he raced 3000 meters two weeks ago.

Rejoice Sule has emerged winner of the women’s 200 meters race event at the 2024 Jarvis Scott Open in Texas, clocking a personal best of 23.37 seconds.

She becomes the third fastest woman from UTEP, just behind Tobi Amusan.

At the same competition, Mercy Umoibang ran a personal best of 24.01 seconds to win her heat and place fourth overall.

Chidi Okezie and Alaba Akintola have emerged winners at the 2024 Darius Dixon Memorial in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Chidi Okezie ran a new Personal Best (PB) of 33.46 seconds to win the men’s 300 meters at the Darius Dixon Memorial in Lynchburg, Virginia. He beat the rest of the field by over half a second.

Alaba Akintola also competed at the same meet and ran a Season’s Best (SB) of 6.67 seconds to win the men’s 60 meters, leading a Nigerian 1-2 with Nurain Kola Musa in 6.73 seconds.

Edose Ibadin has set a new national record of 1:15.89 over 600 meters at the 2024 Big Apple Invitational in New York.

He broke his own record set in 2022, while he moved up to 7th on the all-time African list.

Alex Amankwah won the 600 meters event in a time of 1:15.82.
