Nigerian Army has won Best Land Force in National Defence in Africa 2021/2022 at the 17th Africa Security Watch Conference Award in Banjul, Gambia, on 11 November 2022.

The 17th Africa Security Watch Awards recognises Africa’s best in security safety and governance.

The event was held at the Sir Dawda Jawara Conference Centre, Bijilo.

ACP Amabua Mohammed Becomes First Female Police Adviser For Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF) In Chad

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Amabua Mohammed has been appointed the Police Adviser for the Multinational Joint Task Force in N’Djamena, Chad.

With this appointment, ACP Amabua Mohammed becomes the first female Police Officer in history to hold the tasking position of coordinating policing activities, ensuring discipline and professionalism and providing advisory on the management and improved peace-building efforts, in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency by the Multinational Joint Task Force.

Kene Ilochonwu Emerges First Black Bencher Elected To The Law Society Of Alberta

Kene Ilochonwu, a legal counsel with Parkland Corporation has emerged as the first Black bencher elected to the Law Society of Alberta in its 113-year-history.

The law society board is made up of 24 members, known as benchers. Twenty are lawyers, elected by the profession, and four are members of the public, appointed by the minister of justice.
