Alex Igbineweka develops the Guosa language as a unified language for Nigerians and West African countries.

GUOSA LANGUAGE, THE KEY TO NIGERIA AND ECOWAS UNITY, IDENTIY AND POLITICAL STABILITY

The colonial lingua franca monopoly of the indigenous independent West African nations, or the Economic Communities of West African States (ECOWAS) did not only destabilize and destroy the socio-linguistic anthropology and industrial strategies of the countries; it raised questions which borders on the basis for cohesion, comprehension, industrial and technological revolution and unity in such diversity. Language plays a unifying role in the beginning, development, beliefs, and customs of any nation. There are about 400 different ethnic languages in Nigeria and about twice this number in other West African countries. The evolution of Guosa Language consist at least 120 of these diverse tongues, with developing rules for the evolution of other West African Languages, dialects and cultures. This conference will address the colonial lingua franca monopoly with a neutral yet indigenous common language “Guosa” for inter-ethnic and international communication needs. This is like the Swahili language for the East African bloc. Few examples of Guosa Language are:

ò chètó ájì ‘wá tí shìengá gídá ………….our class Monitor has gone home
ó tí shìhé kófà? …………………………..Have you opened the door?
báasì, mó tí shìhé kófà …………………..yes, I have opened the door.

NOTE: “shienga” meaning: (go/going/gone) is anthropological roots of words evolution from the Yoruba, Zingo and Igbo languages. Similarly, the word: “gida” (house) is from Hausa, Nupe, Kanuri, Fulfulde languages etc. Thus the Guosa is a language evolution from all the West African nations to foster linguistic and anthropological democracy, unity and international communication.

Guosa language will serve as the communication bridge between the United States of America, the ECOWAS and the rest of the world. The ultimate goal is to enhance faster, easier, united and politically stable international tourisms, culture, trade, industries etc. This conference will also focus on the various language roots which made up the Guosa language evolution, bringing about a sound academic platform for the studies and spread of the language. In other words, breaking a new ground in the anthropological science for long lasting solutions to a peaceful African Independent nations.

Daniel Emeka-Ilozor, a 10-year-old pupil of Grace Children School, Gbagada, Lagos State wins the 2016 The Ultimate Mathematics Ambassador competition (TUMA).

Daniel Emeka-Ilozor, a grade five pupil, emerged winner after scoring 93.5 percent. He contested with 347 pupils from different private primary schools in Ogun and Lagos states. He went home with ₦125,000 and a plaque, while his mathematics teacher got ₦50,000 and a plaque and his school was given a laptop, printer, textbooks and a plaque.

The event was sponsored by The Ambassadors  Schools, Ota, Ogun State, which also hosted the event that produced 10 winners in all.

National Universities Commission (NUC) declares University of Ibadan (UI) as the best university in Nigeria (2016).

The University governing body on academic and performance known as National University Commission NUC, has released (recently in 2016) the universities in Nigeria and rank the first 100 ranking of Nigerian universities.

The ranking who see the University of Ibadan (UI) topping the list and the University of Lagos emerging 2nd place and while the University of Benin UNIBEN came in 3rd place.

The bottom three universities are Federal University Lokoja, Lokoja at the 98th position and at 99th position is the Federal University Kashere, Kashere and the 100th position is Rhema University Obeama-Asa.

The list of the 2016 NUC Latest University Ranking in Nigeria are as follows:

1. University of Ibadan, UI, Oyo State.
2. University of Lagos, Unilag, Lagos, Lagos State
3. University of Benin, Uniben, Benin City, Edo State
4. Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Osun State
5. Ahmadu Bello University, Abu, Zaria, Kaduna State
6. University of Ilorin, Unilorin, Ilorin Kwara State
7. University of Jos, Unijos, Jos, Plateau State Nigeria

Daniel Dada Ayodele, a student in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Lagos (UNILAG), has emerged the best student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 at the 2014/2015 convocation.

Mrs Olubola Babalola of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) becomes Africa’s first female professor in Quantity Surveying

26-year-old Romola Adeola has set a record in being the youngest person to obtain a Doctor of Laws degree (LLD) in the 30-year history of the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Furthermore, she is only the 2nd youngest person to achieve this in the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, since its establishment 107 years ago. She distinguished herself by completing the LLD in under 3 years. During her undergraduate years at Lagos State University (LASU), she was the Best Student in International Law.
