Mrs. Noragbon Enogie Osaru of Emotan Primary School has won the Edo State Best Teacher Award and 2nd best school administrator in Nigeria.

Mrs. Noragbon Enogie Osaru was presented with a gift package of 1 million and a brand new car by the Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki at the unveiling of 7,000 digital teachers in Benin City.

UI & UNIABUJA Win 2018 YIAGA Africa Tertiary Institution Affirmative Action Debate

University of Ibadan (UI) and University of Abuja (UniAbuja) have emerged joint winners of the YIAGA Africa tertiary institution affirmative action debate across Nigeria.

The two universities emerged at the grand finale of the debate in Abuja after defeating their other counterparts from the six geo-political zones.

Ezenwa Nwagwu, a board member of YIAGA Africa announced the final results, saying the affirmative action debate was part of the group’s commitment to promote democracy with youth inclusion as one of the thematic areas.

Izeowayi Izaza Victor Wins Inaugural BBC News Pidgin Essay Competition [2018]

Izeowayi Izaza Victor has won the first edition of the BBC News Pidgin essay competition titled, “Is Africa’s youth ready for political leadership.”

Izeowayi’s winning piece focused on the paradox of Africa that has 60 per cent of its population from a younger demographic yet produces political leaders who are often 70 and above.

Izeowayi Izaza Victor, a 21-year-old undergraduate of University of Port Harcourt, had his entry chosen from amongst 18 other entries submitted by talented young African writers.

Olasunkanmi Opeifa Emerge 2018 Maltina Teacher Of The Year

Olasunkanmi Opeifa, a 32-year-old teacher from Government Day Secondary School, Karu, Abuja has emerged as the best 2018 Maltina Teacher of the Year.

Olasunkanmi Opeifa emerged winner among other secondary school teachers in both the public and private secondary schools across the 36 states of the federation.

Olalekan Adeeko, a Computer studies teacher at Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta, Ogun State and Samuel Popoola, a Physics teacher with Deeper Life High School, Akure, Ondo State, emerged the second and third position, respectively of the annual award.

Vinsighte Wins Union Bank Campus Innovation Challenge [2018]

Kolawole Tomisin and Erioluwa Morenikeji, from the University of Ibadan have emerged 1st prize winners of 1.5 million for their initiative – Vinsighte, in the Union Bank Campus Innovation Challenge held in Lagos.

Vinsighte is a health technology project that makes use of technology to help blind and visually impaired persons live a happier, more comfortable life.
