Olalekan Adeeko Wins African Union Continental Teacher Prize 2020

Olalekan Adeeko, a teacher at Baptist Boys’ High School, Ogun has won the African Union Continental Teacher Prize 2020 for his work and dedication to the teaching profession.

He is the first Nigerian to win the prestigious award at the virtual event held in Addis Ababa on the 21st of December, 2020.

For the 2020 edition of the African Union Continental Teacher Awards, prizes of $10,000 each were awarded to top African teachers at the secondary school level.

The AU Teacher Prize has been established as a means for demonstrating respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating the committed teachers in Africa.

Olalere Yusuf Asamu Emerges Overall Best Graduating Student For The 2020 Set In The Nigerian Law School

Olalere Yusuf Asamu, a graduate of University of Ibadan has emerged the overall best graduating student in the January 2020 Bar Final Exams of the Nigerian Law School.

Olalere Yusuf Asamu won 12 (university of Ibadan – 28) out of the 38 prizes at the Bar Final Examinations January 2020 as approved by the Council of Legal Education, Bwari, Abuja.

Oluwatomilola Idris Mustapha Wins 2020 Tei Kaihau Social Entrepreneur Award

Oluwatomilola Idris Mustapha has won the 2020 Tei Kaihau Social Entrepreneur Award at the virtual Global Enterprise Experience Challenge held in New Zealand on  June 24, 2020.

Oluwatomilola Idris Mustapha is a a 400-level student of the Department of Biology, Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State.

The competition, which earned Mustapha’s team seed venture of $4,000, was organised by Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand’s capital city.

The major objective of the contest was to improve participants’ social entrepreneurship skills from across the world in order to create an enabling environment for them on their various business skills.

Adedayo Thomas, Temitayo Oluwadara and Adenike Mary Olowolagba have graduated with a 7.0 CGPA (out of 7.0) at the University of Ibadan (UI).

First position: Adedayo Thomas with an average score of 82.0% in his MSc in Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry Option).

Second Position: Temitayo Oluwadara, with an average score of 81.6% in the MSc in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry Option).

Third Position: Adenike Mary Olowolagba, with an average score of 77.6% in the MSc in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry Option).

Ogechukwu Ozoani Graduates With 5.0 CGPA At Kazan National Research Technological University

Ogechukwu Ozoani has graduated with a first class degree and a 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at Kazan National Research Technological University, Russia.

She studied petroleum engineering and has been given scholarship for her masters and PhD in Nuclear Science.

Dagona Usman Umar has emerged winner of the Imagine National Chemistry Competition 2019/2020 [Nigeria].

He won $400,000 at the Imagine Chemistry International Akzo Nobel Competition 2020/2021 (round 2) with a score of 392 (out of (500).

The topic of discussion was “Pushing the frontiers of sustainable innovations through complex ions and coordination compounds”.

Dagona obtained NCE in Chemistry Education at Yobe State Umar Suleiman Collage of Education in Gashua town. He is a student of the Federal University Gashua, Umar Suleiman College Of Education Gashua.

Snow George Wins 2020 MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition

15-year-old Snow George of Starville School, Abuja has emerged winner of the 2020 MTN mPulse Spelling Bee competition.

Snow George received a two million Naira scholarship, a laptop, smartphone and mPulse goody bag.

The competition, which commenced in October 2020 witnessed participation from over 16,000 children aged 9-15 across the country.

Snow George emerged winner at a keenly contested finale recently in the final round, over Ansel Ifelaja of MasterHill College with the correct spelling of the word “Doraphobia”.
