Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola (nee Mabogunje) has emerged as the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Her appointment was announced on October 7, 2022 by the UNILAG governing council as she becomes the first female vice-chancellor in the school’s 60-year history, and the 13th vice-chancellor of the university.

She is a Nigerian Professor of medical microbiology and specializes in disease control, particularly HIV/AIDS.

Winners have emerged in various categories of the 2022 Presidential Teachers and School Excellence Award by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The award ceremony held on October 5, 2022 at the Eagle Square in Abuja was held to celebrate the World Teachers Day.

The winners were drawn from tens of nominees in different public and private primary and secondary schools across the country.

The students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) have emerged winners of the 2022 ENACTUS Nigeria National competition held on August 30, 2022 at the Eko hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The competition, which began in July this year had 16 participants, 8 of the teams qualified to participate at the semifinals, and 4 of those teams progressed to the finals.

The former reigning champions, the Tai Solarin University of Education team finished second.

Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi of the Abesan Senior High School, Ipaja, Lagos has emerged as the winner of the third South Africa Airways Essay competition (SAAEC 2022), which was held recently in Lagos.

Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi receives a cash prize of ₦150,000, while Aladetohun Kamimayo Enoch of St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka and Oshimade Abisola Promise of Abiolu Comprehensive College, Igando, came second and third, respectively.

The duo also went home with cash prizes of ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 for their efforts.
