Winners Of 17th Wole Soyinka Award For Investigative Reporting

Winners have emerged in the 17th Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting at the award ceremony held in Ikeja, Lagos on December 9, 2022.

During the award presentation ceremony which came under the theme “In-depth media and democratic governance”, the judges noted that the journalists who made the list for the awards, have in the course of their duties shown uncommon innovation and profundity, ethical journalistic courage, individual creativity and public benefit in their reports on clandestine activities, public or corporate corruption, human rights violation and the failure of regulatory agencies.

Hassan Adebayo of Premium Times won the overall investigative journalist of the year and the best investigative story for the online category  with his Pandora Papers series, which unmasked the hidden owners of offshore companies, secret bank accounts, private jets, yachts, mansions and artworks among others.

Nosakhare Igbinosa Wins 2022 BIC Art Master Africa Competition

Nosakhare Igbinosa, a medical student from University of Ibadan, has emerged overall winner of the BIC Art Master Africa 2022 competition with a portrait titled ‘Bona’ winning in first place.

The competition under the theme ‘Celebrating Africa’ encouraged artists to create artwork that represents their personal identity as well as their unique perceptions of the African continent and its diverse cultures using the BIC ballpoint pen.

Zainab Adam Emerges Best Campus Investigative Reporter At 2022 Alfred Opubor Next-Gen Campus Reporter Awards

Zainab Adam has emerged as the Best Campus Investigative Reporter of the 2022 Alfred Opubor Next-Gen Campus Reporter Awards held in Abuja.

The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) presented awards and cash prizes to outstanding student journalists in Nigerian tertiary institutions under its Campus Reporter Programme.

This is the second edition of the awards named after Alfred Opubor, Nigeria’s first Professor of Mass Communication.

The maiden edition of the awards was held in 2018 with seven categories.

Winners Of 2022 Cleft Awareness Media Award (CAMA) Nigeria

Winners have emerged in the 2022 Cleft Awareness Media Award (CAMA) Nigeria held on November 30, 2022.

The winner of the 2022 Cleft Awareness Media Award (CAMA), Gyang Bere, a Daily Sun reporter, received a cash price equivalent to $600 while Mrs. Nike Adebowale-Tambe, a a Senior Health Reporter with PREMIUM TIMES and the second runner-up, Waliat Musa of The Guardian Newspaper got the equivalent of $400 and $300 respectively.

The annual award is organised by Smile Train, one of the world’s largest Cleft charity organisations.
