Obari Gomba, an Associate Dean of Humanities at the University of Port Harcourt, has won the NLNG 2023 Nigerian Prize for Literature.

Gomba, a poet and playwright, who teaches Literature and Creative Writing at University of Port Harcourt, won with his Drama book, Grit.

Oluwademilade Odumuboni Wins 2022-2023 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest

10-year-old Oluwademilade Odumuboni, has emerged as the winner of the 2022–23 edition of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest.

The pupil of Corona School, Gbagada, Lagos, won the grand prize of $5,000 after beating 782,852 other contestants from 90 countries.

Yusuf Anka Wins 2023 Global Shining Light Award

27-year-old Yusuf Anka has won the 2023 Global Shining Light Award in the large outlets category on the September 21, 2023.

At an event held in Gothenburg, Sweden, Mr. Anka’s documentary on the BBC Africa Eye was adjudged the joint best among over 400 entries from over 80 countries.

TheCable Launches Disability Inclusive News Application Platform (DINA)

TheCable has launched a Disability Inclusive News Application platform (DINA) on May 9, 2023 to promote disability inclusion in Nigeria.

The app, which aligns with the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2019, will also safeguard Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) against misinformation through Cable Check.
