Kukogho Iruesiri Samson, Sada Malumfashi and Halima Aliyu have emerged winners of the HIASFEST 2023 Golden Awards for Art Administrators in Nigeria.

The Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation announced the awardees, which is part of the events culminating in the Hadiza Ibrahim Aliyu Schools Festival (HIASFEST).

The festival appreciates writers and artists who have created platforms to assist the promotion and development of young writers and have also produced texts contributing significantly to literary development in Nigeria and Africa.

Rose Okeke Wins 2022 James Currey Prize For African Literature

Rose Okeke has won the 2022 James Currey Prize for African Literature for her manuscript, “Child of the Corn” and receives £1,000.

The winner was announced at a prize ceremony hosted by OneWorld Publications publisher, Juliet Mabey on 3 September 2022, marking the end of the 3-day James Currey Literary Festival, which held at the University of Oxford between 1 and 3 September 2022.

Twenty (20) Media Practitioners Emerge Inaugural MTN Media Innovation Programme Fellows

Twenty (20) media professionals in Nigeria have been selected for the inaugural Media Innovation Programme (MIP) by MTN Nigeria in partnership with the School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University, Lekki, Lagos.

The six-month fully funded fellowship is for innovative storytellers and media leaders that will equip them with new skills needed to function in the rapidly changing media world.

The MTN Media Innovation Programme began on May 23 and will run until October 28. The MTN Media Innovation Programme Fellows cut across print, broadcast, online and social media.
