Tessy Igomu has emerged West Africa Journalist of the Year in the 2022 West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards (WAMECA) held on October 22, 2022 in Ghana.

Organised by the Media Foundation for West Africa, WAMECA honours exemplary work, in-depth investigations and exceptional storytelling.

This year’s WAMECA was held under the theme, “The Media and Women Empowerment in Africa”.

“Nomad” By Romeo Oriogun Wins NLNG 2022 Nigeria Prize For Literature (Poetry Cycle)

The Advisory Board for The Nigeria Prize for Literature, sponsored by Nigeria LNG Limited, have announced “Nomad”, authored by Romeo Oriogun as the winner of the 2022 Nigeria Prize For Literature.

On October 14, 2022, Romeo Oriogun, the winning poet was announced winner of the $100,000 prize for the 2022 cycle on Poetry.

Kukogho Iruesiri Samson, Sada Malumfashi and Halima Aliyu have emerged winners of the HIASFEST 2023 Golden Awards for Art Administrators in Nigeria.

The Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation announced the awardees, which is part of the events culminating in the Hadiza Ibrahim Aliyu Schools Festival (HIASFEST).

Rose Okeke Wins 2022 James Currey Prize For African Literature

Rose Okeke has won the 2022 James Currey Prize for African Literature for her manuscript, “Child of the Corn” and receives £1,000.

The winner was announced at a prize ceremony hosted by OneWorld Publications publisher, Juliet Mabey on 3 September 2022, marking the end of the 3-day James Currey Literary Festival, which held at the University of Oxford between 1 and 3 September 2022.
