2016 NUC Latest University Ranking As UI Listed As Number 1
National Universities Commission (NUC) declares University of Ibadan (UI) as the best university in Nigeria (2016).
The University governing body on academic and performance known as National University Commission NUC, has released (recently in 2016) the universities in Nigeria and rank the first 100 ranking of Nigerian universities.
The ranking who see the University of Ibadan (UI) topping the list and the University of Lagos emerging 2nd place and while the University of Benin UNIBEN came in 3rd place.
The bottom three universities are Federal University Lokoja, Lokoja at the 98th position and at 99th position is the Federal University Kashere, Kashere and the 100th position is Rhema University Obeama-Asa.
The list of the 2016 NUC Latest University Ranking in Nigeria are as follows:
- University of Ibadan, UI, Oyo State.
- University of Lagos, Unilag, Lagos, Lagos State
- University of Benin, Uniben, Benin City, Edo State
- Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Osun State
- Ahmadu Bello University, Abu, Zaria, Kaduna State
- University of Ilorin, Unilorin, Ilorin Kwara State
- University of Jos, Unijos, Jos, Plateau State Nigeria

Daniel Dada Ayodele, a student in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Lagos (UNILAG), has emerged the best student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 at the 2014/2015 convocation.

“Meet the Nigerian Scientist” Professor Isa Hussaini Marte
On 11th February 2016, the Sussex Nigerian Society hosted Professor Isa Hussaini Marte, a Professor of Pharmacology, University of Maiduguri, a visiting Professor, University of Virginia, USA and a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science.
In an event titled “Meet the Nigerian Scientist” organised by the Society, Professor Isa discussed with the Nigerian students in Sussex about their discovery of Nigerian traditional herbs that show substantial efficacy against cancer, better than the currently used cancer drugs.

IVM Fabricates Parts of the Nigerian Air Force’s MB-339 Aircraft
Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) Company locally modifies and overhaul the brake assembly of the Nigerian Air Force’s MB-339 aircraft for adoption on the Alpha Jets.
According to the Director, Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Capt. Ayodele Famuyiwa:
“The company, at a time when the NAF would have been forced to ground its entire fleet of Alpha Jets due to lack of brake assembly, had helped to locally modify and overhaul the brake assembly of the MB-339 aircraft for adoption on the Alpha Jets.
