Winners Of PZ Cussons 2018 Chemistry Challenge Competition

Winners have emerged in the PZ Cussons 2018 Chemistry Challenge competition at its head office in Lagos.

Tadese Fatai, the overall winner was awarded the grand prize of 1 million, a trophy and a gold medal. His Chemistry teacher received 250,000 and a plaque. PZ Cussons also equipped the Chemistry laboratory of the winning school Abibat Mogaji Millennium Secondary School with premium equipment.

Adegoke Pelumi, New Hall International School, who emerged first runner-up was presented with a cheque of 750,000 and a silver medal.

Second runner-up, Iwuala Chibuzor, also of Abibat Millennium Senior Secondary School, Agege got 500,000 and a bronze medal.

Team TechVault Wins NIBSS Hackathon Challenge 2018

Team TechVault has emerged overall winner of the Nigerian Inter-bank Settlement System, NIBSS Hackathon Challenge 2018.

Team Petram and Team PayBeans emerged second and third positions respectively out of the thirteen groups that participated in the challenge.

The grand finale, which held in Lagos had winners receiving 1 million, 2 million and 3 million for the 3rd, 2nd and 1st Prize respectively.

Guaranty Trust Bank Sierra Leone Ltd, a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank), was also recognized as the Bank of the Year Sierra Leone.

Covenant University Wins 2018 All-Nigeria Universities Debating Championship (ANUDC)

Covenant University (CU) has emerged the overall winner of the 2018 All-Nigeria Universities Debating Championship (ANUDC) hosted by the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) between September 23rd and 29th, 2018.

At the competitive tournament, the body that coordinates championships among Nigerian universities, the ANUDC led by Dr. Ndubuisi Oswagwu of the University of Calabar, adjudged Covenant University as the overall winner of the prestigious national inter-varsity championship, having beaten Imo State University and host, University of Ilorin to the second and third positions respectively.

Also winning individual awards and medals were Dominic Dominic and Jenny Odjugo, who emerged among the Best Debaters at the Championship.

Team Nigeria Emerge Champions Of 2018 Zambia International Badminton Championship

Team Nigeria has emerged champions of the 2018 Zambia International Badminton Championship after winning four medals, comprising two gold and two silver.

The four-day championship held in Lusaka from November 29 – December 2 [2018], saw Dorcas Ajoke Adesokan emerge victorious over Ogar Siamupangila of Zambia 21-17, 21-15 in two straight sets in the women single event to win.

Adesokan also combined well with Anu Opeyori in the Mixed Doubles to defeat Bahaedeen Ahmed and Domou Amro of Jordan 21-18, 23-21.

Azerbaijan finished second overall with 2 gold medals while host, Zambia came third with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Queen’s College Yaba & FGC Minna Win Inaugural Federal Government Colleges (FEDCOL) Football Tournament

Queen’s College Yaba, (QC) Football Team and FGC Minna have emerged 1st place winners (Girls and Boys respectively) in the maiden edition of the Federal Government Colleges (FEDCOL) Football Tournament held at the Federal Government Academy, Suleja from November 28 to December 1, 2018.

FGGC Abaji and FGC Wukari went home with the 2nd & 3rd place trophies (for Girls) respectively.

The Boys tournament was won by FGC Minna, who defeated FGC Sokoto, 2-0 to clinch the 1st place for Boys.

Super Falcons Of Nigeria Win 2018 Africa Women Cup Of Nations (AWCON)

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have emerged as the champions of Africa for an incredible ninth time after winning the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).

The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated South Africa’s Bayana Bayana 4-3 in the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) final held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
