Dolphin Aquatic Centre and Dolphin Swim School, has won a grant from the Moroccan-funded African Entrepreneurship Award for 2018.

Founder Aderoju Ope-Ajayi, 38 years old, a FINA-certified swimming instructor and coach, was one of three award recipients in the sports category funded by the BMCE Bank of Africa that is headquartered in Casablanca.

Winners have emerged at the 2018 Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) CEO Awards at a ceremony held on December 12, 2018, at the Stock Exchange House in Lagos.

Initiated in 2012, The NSE CEO Awards is designed to reward and motivate listed companies, Dealing Member Firms, Fund Managers and Issuing Houses to attain higher levels of corporate governance, compliance and performance that reinforce investor confidence in the Nigerian capital market.

This year, The Exchange enhanced the award categories from three to ten to reflect the dynamic nature of the market.

Professor Tanure Ojaide Emerge Joint Winner Of 2018 Wole Soyinka Prize For Literature

Professor Tanure Ojaide and Uganda’s Harriet Arena have been announced as the joint winners of 2018 Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature.

Servio Gbadamosi, a doctoral candidate in the cultural and media studies program at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, was the runner-up. He was shortlisted for his ‘A Tributary in Servitude’.

The winners were announced at a ceremony held at the Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos.

Team Banga Of FUTO Wins 2018 Unilever Nigeria Ideatrophy Challenge

Team Banga from Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has emerged the overall winner of the 2018 Unilever Nigeria Ideatrophy Challenge.

The initiative, which is in line with the company’s quest to groom young talents in Nigeria and Ghana along the lines of personal, leadership and entrepreneurial competences, last year accommodated undergraduates from both countries at the 6th edition held in Lagos.

The Unilever Nigeria Ideatrophy Challenge, a development initiative designed to create an ‘out-of-the-classroom’ learning experience for undergraduate students had as its theme for this year’s edition: “Freedom to Explore, Freedom to Experience, Freedom to Grow” – with the students expected to come up with unique ideas based on the years’ theme.

Professor Olufemi Obafemi Receives 2018 Nigerian National Order Merit (NNOM) Award

Professor Olufemi Obafemi has been conferred with the 2018 Nigerian National Order Merit (NNOM) Award by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Professor Olufemi Obafemi, who is the President, Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) and currently, the National Chairman of the Nigerian Reproduction Rights Society of Nigeria (REPRONIG), has been a Professor of English and Dramatic Literature at the University of Ilorin since October 1st, 1990.

Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA), Professor Shekarau Yakubu Aku, said that out of about 35 nominations, only Professor Obafemi met all the criteria set out for the award – being the 76th recipient.
