Artistry Media Wins $5,000 Grant From Lagos Film Academy

Artistry Media, which consists of Baridakara Nwilene, Alfa Faruk Umar and Joshua Tostso, has won a $5,000 film project grant from the Lagos Film Academy.

The three young and aspiring filmmakers were selected by the Lagos Film Academy for the grant in the third Film for Life competition.

The three members of Artistry Media will have the opportunity to make a short film directed at impacting social change with focus on the upcoming 2019 general elections in Nigeria.

Winners Of 2018 DStv Eutelsat Star Awards

Winners have emerged from the 2018 edition of the DStv Eutelsat Star awards.

They are Tirzah Ikiri of Zamani College, Kaduna, winner in the Essay category of the award while Prosper Okarike of Graceland International College, Port-Harcourt came first in the Poster category, making him a two-time winner of the competition at the national level.

Christiana Obafemi Wins 2018 9Mobile Photography Competition

For the 2018 edition of the 9Mobile Photography Competition, with the theme, “9ja: My Grind, My Hustle”, Christiana Obafemi has emerged as the winner with her image titled, “My Passion, My Strength.”

At the prize presentation, which was held recently at Banana Island, Ikoyi, Christiana Obafemi receives a canon camera for her emergence at the prize presentation ceremony in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Bambi Daniel and Ayodeji Ogunro emerged as first and second runners-up with their images titled; “Female Barber” and “The Wind” respectively.

The winner of the ‘Voters’ Choice’ category is David Gideon, for his work titled; “A Woman.” The ‘Voters’ Choice’ category was selected through a two-week online public vote which was opened to photography enthusiasts from November 5 to 19, 2018.

Umar Aminu Yandaki graduates with a first class honours with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of the Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) in the 2017/2018 academic session.

22-year-old Umar Aminu Yandaki is the second person to graduate with a first class honours degree in the history of the Department (History) in 33 years and also seemingly, in the history of Northern Nigeria. The first person being Professor Mahmood Yakubu – the current Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Saleem Rufai is the first person to graduate with a first class honours degree in the history of the Department (Business Administration) since inception in 1975.

Team Delta State Emerge Overall Winner Of 19th National Sports Festival

Team Delta State has emerged the overall winner of the 19th National Sports Festival held between December 6-16, 2018 at the National Stadium Abuja.

Team Delta won 163 gold medals, 88 silver and 101 bronze medals to beat the other participating teams.
