Oduduru Divine Runs 2019 World Fastest Time In 100 & 200 Meters Michael Johnson Invitational

Oduduru Divine has emerged winner at the Michael Johnson Invitational Event with a 2019 world fastest time In 100 meters and 200 meters.

Oduduru Divine made the 100 meters run under 10 seconds in 9.95 seconds, later rounded off to 9.94 seconds to achieve the win.

The new feat is not just a new Personal Best (PB) for Oduduru Divine, it is also a new School Record (SR) and the fastest time in the 100m in the world this year.

Since Nigerian sprint legend, Olusoji Fasuba, ran a time of 9.85 seconds, in 2006 to set a new African record, no runner from the country has been able to run the 100 meters event under 10 seconds in the last 13 years.

The United Nations has honoured 140 Nigerian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) for their courage and commitment to peacekeeping.

Deputy chief of the United Nations Police Component (UNPOL), Brig-Gen. Jean Voillot, presided over the ceremony that held in Timbuktu.

Folashade Salako Wins Inaugural SYTA Best Pharmacy Brain [2018-2019]

Folashade Salako has won the 2018-2019 maiden edition of the Shalina Young Talent Award (SYTA) also dubbed the ‘Best Pharmacy Brain’ Award.

Folashade Salako, a final year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), clinched the award to emerge the best pharmacy brain in Nigeria. She beat two other contestants from Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan – Temiwunmi Akinmuleya and Adeboye Bamgboye to second and third places respectively.

Organised by Shalina Healthcare, the Shalina Young Talent Award (SYTA), seeks to promote pharmacy as a profession in Nigeria by engaging tertiary health institutions in the country in the professional development of young pharmacists.

Winners Of 9th Korean-Nigerian Poetry Feast

Winners have emerged in the 9th Korea-Nigeria Poetry Feast organised by the Korean Cultural Centre in Nigeria (KCCN) held in Abuja.

The adult category saw a total of 51 entries in which Silas Sharamang emerged winner with the poem ‘Blessings’ and got a cash prize of 100,000.

King-David Chisom emerged first runner up with the poem ‘The Needed Reflection for Nigeria at 59’ and got the cash prize of 75,000.

The second runner up position was clinched by Roseben Anyanwu with the poem titled ‘The Perfect Ceremony’ with a cash prize of 50,000.

Similarly seven other poets won consolation prizes of 25,000 each.

Ibadan Excellers have emerged winners of the Little League Nigeria 2019 Baseball Tournament at the Oval Pitch Section of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ibadan Excellers prevailed over the Akure Owena team from Ondo State with a score of 12 to 5 to emerge winners of the 2019 edition of the United States (U.S.) Consulate-supported tournament.

Toluwani Hassan from Akure Owena team was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

Uverineh Oghenefejiro has emerged overall winner in the maiden edition of the Rejoice Alabi Writing (RAW) Challenge for first year Law students.

The competition, with the theme: Why I want to be a lawyer, is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the founding partner of Egbaaibon & Alabi LP, Mr. Rejoice Alabi.

Uverineh Oghenefejiro of the University of Ibadan (UI), Oyo State, overcame over 40 students from 10 universities to come tops.

Ogunba Ademiposi and Ibikunle Daniel, both of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Osun State, were second and third respectively.
