Team Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaria has emerged in third position at the global final of the 2018-2019 Huawei ICT World Competition in Shenzhen China.

Additionally, ABU Zaria, Nigeria was recognised with an award for Excellent Academy while Dr. Bashir Sadiq of Department of Computer Engineering, ABU Zaria won an award for one of the best instructors.

Emmanuel Gyan Gwom & Deborah Gwom Win 2019 Okpekpe Race [Nigerian Category]

Emmanuel Gyan Gwom and Deborah Gwom have won the Nigerian category of the 2019 Okpekpe Race in the male and female categories respectively.

Emmanuel Gyan Gwom was the first Nigerian runner with a time of 31.42 seconds, while his wife Deborah won the female category.

Deborah had won all the previous editions in this category.

The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) has performed undertook its first surgery to remove brain tumour using a machine that drills the skull bone to gain access to the tumour.

The brain operation involving tumour had been in the patient (a woman) for three years before the surgery was done by a combined effort of neurosurgeons, Ear-Nose-Throats (ENT), surgeons and the Anaesthetists.

Tobechukwu Phillips Emerges First Black Valedictorian In Alvin High School’s 125-year History

Tobechukwu Phillips has emerged the first Black valedictorian of Alvin High School in Texas 125 years after it was established in 1894.

This incredible feat takes place 54 years after the school integrated with African-American students in 1965.

Tobechukwu Phillips graduated with a 6.9 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, which she earned by taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses along with her electives.

She got to the top of her class by getting all A’s throughout her four years in school. This is in addition to her other interests.
