Anthony Okpotu has been voted the Best Foreign Player in the Tunisian League 1 as well as being honored with the Best League Striker award.
Tunisian football website foot24.tn honored the 26 years old US Monastir striker with the award.
The former Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer says he is excited with the recognition, which he hopes will propel him to do better.
“I am really pleased and honoured to be nominated by foot24 as one of the best strikers in the league and it is a privilege to be voted as the best striker in the country.
It is a feat I have been able to achieve with the help of my coaches, teammates and the backroom staff. I want to say thank you to all the coaches and club captains and everyone who voted for me.
It is my wish to keep scoring goals and doing my best for my team. I will continue to work hard in training to ensure I do well in games. I’m very happy with the award.”
Anthonu Okpotu is the top scorer in the Tunisian league with 11 goals with three assists in 16 appearances for US Monastir.
Anthony Okpotu spent his early club football with Lobi Stars and Al-Ittihad Tripoli. In April 2018 he had a trial at Danish club Brøndby. He joined Morocco side Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi in July 2018. On 31 January 2019, Okpotu was loaned out to Albanian club KF Laçi.
