Annette Echikunwoke has received the PACEsetter Award 2022 from the University of Cincinnati’s Linder College of Business presented on March 3, 2022.
This award is presented to an alumni who practices and sets the PACE for success in both their professional and personal lives.
Echikunwoke is the current UC school record holder in the indoor shot put and weight throw as well as the outdoor shot put and hammer throw. She became UC’s first national champion in track and field when she won the title in 2017 in the weight throw. She also qualified to represent Nigeria in the 2020 Summer Olympics and since graduation has set four Nigerian national records in the Hammer Throw.
Annette Echikunwoke received a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science in 2018 and a Master of Science in Marketing in 2019, both from the University of Cincinnati. Since graduation, Echikunwoke has worked with Empower, a national advertising agency based in Cincinnati, as well as volunteered in the Cincinnati community with Girls on the Run and the Freestone Foodbank.
The PACEsetter award is presented to someone who exemplifies Professionalism, Academics, Character and Engagement (PACE). The Linder College of Business believes that helping students cultivate these values along with their knowledge and skills will help them grow into the professionals employers want to hire and the leaders others want to follow.
