Voice IT Wins 2017 Re: Code Nigeria Hackathon

Voice IT, a Voice banking app, has won the 2017 Re: Code Nigeria Hackathon and a prize money of ₦1.5 million as well as access to Microsoft Azure and the IBM platform for a year.

The winning app allows banking customers to use voice commands to carry out banking operations such as checking one’s account balance, transferring funds, and purchasing airtime for one’s mobile phone are done using voice. In other words,  you speak or talk and the App does all the work.

The awards were organized by the Africa Fintech Foundry in partnership with Access Bank, Flutterwave, IBM, Microsoft, iDEA Nigeria and others. The aim of the hackathon was to build brilliant solutions to the most daunting problems faced in financial services today.

Voice IT were the overall winners, with the Paysense team, which developed a smart payment and financial advice bot nicknamed Victor came in at placed second. Third place was awarded to the team that developed Fissit, a financial assistance tool for managing money, tracking expenses, and making payments, came third. They received ₦1 million and ₦500,000 respectively and other prizes.
