Ibilola Famewo Launches Two Transformative Books; 'The Burden of Silence: Breaking Stigma, Nurturing Abilities, and Bridging the Gap' and 'From the Water Brook: God's Mind for Believers' Increase'

Ibilola Famewo is a special educator, behaviour analyst, with over a decade of experience in supporting children and families living with autism and intellectual disabilities. She is also a minister of the gospel, an accomplished consultant, and a passionate advocate for inclusive education and community sensitization.

In recent years, cases of autism, intellectual disabilities, and other related conditions have continued to increase all over the world. These conditions are grossly underreported, misunderstood, and mismanaged due to the general lack of information, resources, and professional training in Nigeria. It has come to be recognized as a health problem, as much as a social issue, given the increased prevalence in both children and adults. Unless these disabilities are suitably tackled, they will create considerable long-term problems not only for the individuals affected but also for their families, the community, and the country as a whole. This is why there is an urgent need to train professionals, parents, caregivers and sensitize communities on these pandemics. In the spirit of advocacy and sensitization, she has developed two books.

Why These Books Matter

Both books are born out of the rising prevalence of autism, intellectual disabilities, and the economic challenges in Nigeria. They both point out the dire need for professional training, parental empowerment, and community sensitization for a more accepting and supportive society.

The Burden of Silence reminds families, professionals, and policymakers of the need for collective responsibility in trying to bridge systemic gaps in understanding and handling disabilities.  From the Water Brook teaches the reader faith principles for overcoming financial challenges, allowing God to provide one’s needs.

Learn the divine principles for financial increase and spiritual abundance in these economically turbulent times. Inspired by faith, from a foundation of biblical insight, this book so equips believers to overcome even Nigeria’s economic pandemic.
