Favour Ofili has set new national and African records in the women’s 300 meters race event at the 2024 NB Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, running 35.99 seconds.
Her win overtakes Amantle Montsho’s 14-year-old 300 meters African record of 36.33 seconds.
She becomes the 10th fastest woman ever over the distance as she finished behind world 200 meters silver medallist Gabby Thomas with 35.85 seconds, and it obliterated Christy Opara’s Nigerian Record of 36.53 seconds.
