Tobi Amusan has emerged winner of the women’s 100 meters hurdles event at the 2023 Gyulai Istvan Memorial with a 12.35 seconds finish on July 18, 2023.
The Gyulai István Memorial is an annual track and field meet that takes place at Bregyó közi Regionális Atlétika Központ in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.
She defeated the American duo of Nia Ali and Alaysha Johnson, who finished second and third in 12.41 and 12.50 seconds, respectively.
The victory at the 2023 Gyulai Istvan Memorial was Amusan’s second in two days after she ran a season-best 12.34 seconds to set a new meet record at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on Sunday.
A fortnight ago, she won her first Diamond League title of the year in Stockholm, Sweden.
Her return to form coincides with the forthcoming 2023 World Athletics Championship, where she is expected to defend her title.
Amusan had a stellar 2022, where she delivered brilliant performances at the Diamond League, Commonwealth Games, and World Athletics Championships.
The 2023 World Athletics Championship is billed to commence on August 19 through August 27 in Budapest, Hungary.
