Winners have emerged in the 2023 REIS Table Tennis Tournament held at the Oba of Lagos Sports Hall, Eko Club, Surulere.
Orok Etim and Durosinmi Etti claimed victory in the men’s and women’s singles finals of the second REIS Table Tennis Tournament.
Etim emerged as the champion in the men’s category after a tightly contested match against Ahmed Belo, securing a 4-3 victory. Ayanwale Jamiu and Akanbi Rilwan shared the third-place position.
In the cadet boys’ division, Adebakin Tobi emerged as the champion by defeating Emmanuel Joseph in the final match. Sultan Agunbiade and Adebayo Abdul Amin shared the third-place position.
In the cadet girls’ category, Akanbi Taiwo claimed the title by defeating Emmanuel Joy. Rabiu Aisha and Akorode Kabirat secured the third-place position.
The mini cadet division saw Adebayo Alimi emerge as the winner by defeating Yusuf Solomon in the final. Ayoola Umar and Ayatulahi Ahmed finished in joint third place.
In the veterans’ class, Bambo Emmanuel secured a remarkable three consecutive victories by defeating Adebayo Fatai. Afolabi Kehinde and Ganiyu Kadiri finished in joint third position.
During the event, Olaseni Reis, the tournament convener, expressed great satisfaction with the success of the second edition of the championship (2023 REIS Table Tennis Tournament) and assured that the next edition would be even bigger.
