NATIONAL CAKE
John was cooking himself dinner when he heard a knock at the door. It was his neighbor, Mercy. She said she could smell the food from outside and asked if she could join him. Jack hesitated, knowing that if he let one neighbor in, the rest would follow. But he couldn’t say no, so he let her in. Soon, the smell of the food drew in the other neighbors, and Jack begrudgingly shared his meal. They brought drinks and the night turned into a party. As the last guest left, Jack smiled to himself, grateful for the unexpected fun.
SIX TO SIX
Bolu and his coworkers began their workday at 6 am, with a challenging project ahead. As the morning wore on, hunger pangs set in. With no time for lunch, Bolu suggested they make akpu. His coworkers were hesitant, but Bolu persuaded them to try. They mixed and rolled the dough, trying various spices. The aroma of cooking akpu refreshed them. They savored each bite and worked tirelessly until 6 pm, when the project was finished. They celebrated their success with a final serving of delicious akpu. The nourishing meal had kept them going through a long day.
PERSONAL PERSON
Tayo’s birthday was going well, but he felt like something was missing. As the night progressed, Tayo tried to hide his disappointment, but he couldn’t help feeling a bit let down. However, his spirits lifted when his phone rang and Bukky promised to make it up to him for not being there. An hour later, Bukky arrived with a tray of steaming hot jollof rice and chicken, Tayo’s favorite dish. The room erupted in cheers, and Tayo savored each bite. Bukky smiled, happy to have made his day, and Tayo knew then that she was his favorite person.
