Nigeria’s Flamingos have won Nigeria’s first-ever Bronze medal at the 2022 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup held on 30 October 2022 in Mumbai, India.
Nigeria led Germany 3-0 until the 72nd minute, but gave it up as the game went to penalties, however Nigeria won the shootout 3-2 to get the Bronze medal.
Flamingos striker Opeyemi Ajakaye won the Player of the Match award for her impact in the team’s triumph over the Germans. Her third of the tournament.
