Winners have emerged in the Rio 2016 Paralympics [Nigeria].

Nigeria closed the Rio Paralympics with eight golds, two silvers and two bronze medals to finish 17th in the medal table and top among African countries.

Rolland Ezuruike won team Nigeria first gold at the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio De Janeiro by lifting 200 kg in the men’s 54 kg to beat China’s Jian Wang and Greece’s Dimitrios Bakochristos to the top prize.

Paul Kehinde breaks world record to win Nigeria’s 2nd Gold at Rio paralympics in the men’s – 65 kg powerlifting.

Team Nigeria’s Captain Lucy Ejike also shattered the Paralympic and world record to dominate the women’s – 61 kg event in powerlifting.

Nigeria has won yet another gold medal through Lauritta Onye in the shot put event with 8.40m on her fourth attempt.

Ndidi Nwosu won the country’s fifth gold in the women’s – 73 kg powerlifting even.

Bose Omolayo broke her own World Record (WR) in the women’s -79 kg to win the country’s sixth gold.

Flora Ugwunwa set another world record in the ladies’ lance – F54 occasion at the Rio Paralympics to give Nigeria its seventh gold decoration. She recorded a toss of 20.25 meters after six endeavors to win the gold decoration.

Josephine Orji shatters the world record with a lift of 160 kg to win the gold medal in the women’s – 84 kg powerlifting event.

Powerlifter Latifat Tijani won Nigeria’s first silver medal.

Esther Oyema gives Nigeria a second silver medal at the Rio 2016 Paralympics  Games in the women’s – 55 kg powerlifting event.

Eucharia Iyiazi won bronze in the women’s discus throw with a throw of 27.54 metres.
