The 2021 PositiveNaija Science Quiz promotes the knowledge, value and practicability of science as a respectable basis of testable explanations about the universe.

The monthly competition aims to provide a balanced approach to the study of science notably among Nigerians with subjects including: physics, chemistry, biology (natural science); geography, psychology (social science); and mathematics, statistics (formal science).

The 2021 PositiveNaija Science Quiz is scheduled for the last Sunday of every month at 9:00 pm (beginning from June 2021).

Quiz Questions and Answers: 2021 POSITIVENAIJA SCIENCE QUIZ Q&A [JUNE-DECEMBER]

Eligibility and expectation(s):

• Open to everyone
• No age restriction
• One (1) quiz submission per person
• Quiz participation is free – at no cost to the participants
• Timelines (GMT +1; Nigerian time)
• PositiveNaija Team is not eligible (excluding Volunteers)

Quiz format:

• Quiz is to be taken on a created Topic at the scheduled date and time on 2021 PositiveNaija Science Quiz of the PositiveNaija Q&A Forum.
• 15 questions to be answered within a 5-minute window
• Answer questions by only stating the Question Number(s) and correct/preferred Answer alphabet option. For example: 1. B ; 2. A ; 3. C ; etc.
• If you edit your post containing your answers to the quiz, that edited time will be taken/noted as the time in which you took the quiz.
• If the time for the quiz stated is 9:00 pm – 9:05 pm for example, answers from 9:06:00 pm will be nullified.
• To take the quiz, register on the PositiveNaija Q&A Forum with your username being your full names (same as your bank account name – should you win). Persons who are already registered members on the Forum, do not need to re-register again as they can make use of their existing profiles.
• Winners are declared based on the most correct answers in the fastest time.
• Winners are communicated with to provide their account details towards receiving their prize through their email addresses used in registering on the Forum.
• PositiveNaija on behalf of the sponsors (if available), sends to the winners their rewards.

• 1^st prize: ₦6,000
• 2^nd prize: ₦2,500
• 3^rd prize: ₦1,500

Sponsorship

The quiz competition is open for sponsorship.

Minimum financial sponsorship requirement is sponsorship for a month, which is valued at ₦15,000 (₦10,000 towards the prizes and ₦5,000 towards media/publicity and relevant administrative costs).

Sponsorships of a minimum of three (3) months will receive greater visibility with their names appearing on the official quiz publicity posters/materials.

With greater sponsorships, the prizes and number of winners would also increase accordingly.

Sponsors can make suggestions on area of concentration on questions (typically, about three out of the 15) but are unable to set the questions as only PositiveNaija can do this. In other words, a sponsoring renewable energy company can recommend that questions on solar energy is included in the physics quiz.

All approved sponsors are acknowledged on this post and accordingly on the relevant quiz sections.
